John Secunde

The title for this piece comes from the Narsaq stick, a thousand year old engraved piece of pine discovered in Greenland. A possible interpretation of one of the vague runic sentences found on it is "on the sea, the sea, the sea is the ambush of the Æsir (Gods)." A more popular interpretation is "he who sat on a tub saw a tub," but that doesn’t make for a very good title does it? The interlocking rippling texture of the piece seems to me to reflect the nature of water.
